Join ESB's Spirited 50 Travel Club as we celebrate America's 250th Birthday with a fascinating look at the events, conflicts, and stories that shaped our nation and the world.
Our day begins in Kansas City with a visit to one of the region's most talked-about exhibitions, The Berlin Wall: A World Divided at Union Station. From the producers of Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. This immersive experience brings history to life as you stand face-to-face with actual sections of the wall that divided East and West Germany. Through powerful artifacts, personal stories, and interactive displays, you'll explore the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall and the human impact of the Cold War.
Following our morning tour, we'll enjoy lunch at Grünauer, a beloved Austrian restaurant in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District. Known for its authentic Central European cuisine, Grünauer offers a unique dining experience inspired by the flavors of Austria, Germany, and Hungary.
In the afternoon, we'll visit the National WWI Museum and Memorial, America's official museum dedicated to World War I. Designated by Congress and home to one of the world's most extensive collections of Great War artifacts, the museum offers a moving and unforgettable experience. Walk through the iconic glass bridge overlooking a field of poppies, explore recreated trenches, and discover exhibits such as Paris at War that bring history to life.
To conclude our day, we're hoping to make a stop at one of Kansas City's newest destinations, The River House on the Rock Island Bridge. Stretching across the Kansas River, this unique venue offers beautiful views and the perfect setting to relax with a refreshing "boat drink" while reflecting on a day filled with history, culture, and fellowship.
