Battle of the Banks + Credit Unions
A little friendly competition. A chance to help our neighbors.
ESB Financial has challenged other Emporia banks and credit unions to join us in collecting food for KVOE’s Drive for Food, benefiting the Salvation Army and Spartan Stop at Emporia High School.
Seven local institutions accepted the challenge, and we’d love your help filling Team ESB’s collection areas!
How to Participate
Drop off unopened, nonperishable food during business hours through Wednesday, October 21, at either ESB Financial location in Emporia:
-
Merchant Street
-
Industrial Plaza
Everyone is welcome to donate. You do not need to be an ESB client to participate.
What to Donate
Complete meals, protein-rich foods and individually packaged snacks are especially helpful. Some ideas include:
-
Canned meats, soups, stews and chili
-
Peanut butter and jelly
-
Pasta and pasta sauce in cans or plastic containers
-
Cereal, oatmeal and granola bars
-
Mac and cheese, rice mixes and shelf-stable meals
-
Fruit cups, applesauce cups and individually packaged snacks
Please bring unopened food in good condition and avoid glass containers. See the donation lists below for more ideas and specific requests.

Coming Together for Our Community
Each institution will count its donations on October 21, and KVOE will pick up the food October 22. We’ll celebrate the institution collecting the most items and share how much all seven teams collected together.
Whether you bring a few cans or a bag of groceries, thank you for helping fill local shelves!
